Herkner looked to nature for his design, mimicking the basalt columns that form on volcanoes when lava cools. The surface of the Lewa is divided into separate sections, coupling a satin varnished ash tabletop with a sculpted ceramic tray in white. Its edges are high enough to hold water and decorative flowers, so you can even use the table to create a mini Japanese zen bowl.
